What is MeSHTM?

MeSHTM is the one-stop mobile service platform suite offering government e-Services and value-added lifestyle promotions and contents to all mobile users. You need to download MeSHTM Client to your mobile phone and enjoy convenience and benefits at your fingertips through the various features of MeSHTM.

Which are the supported phones for MeSHTM?

MeSHTM is supported on most java-enabled phones.

We also bring to you location-based services contents if your phone is suitable to receive this value-added service. You will be able to receive surprise promotions from our participating merchants when you are near their various outlets.

Simply turn MeSHTM ON when you are out and about.

 

How does location-based service (LBS) on MeSHTM benefit me?

You can receive surprise promotions when you are near our participating merchants to enjoy the exclusive promos and discounts. Simply turn MeSHTM ON wherever you are.

 

My handset is currently not supported. Can I try MeSHTM?

If your handset is not supported, please let us know. We will constantly be updating the list of supported phones.

 

Do I need a 3G phone and 3G SIM card for MeSHTM?

Both a 3G phone and 3G SIM card set up is strongly recommended. If you are not using a 3G set up, the user experience may not be as desirable as recommended.

DATA RATE CHARGES

Are there data charges to download MeSHTM?

To download MeSHTM Client via PC:
There will be no data charges if you download MeSHTM to your PC/Laptop. But there will be data charge once you launch MeSHTM on your mobile.

 

To download MeSHTM Client via SMS link:
A SMS will be sent to you when you register. The size of the file is approximately 220kb. Please note that standard data rate charges from your service provider will be borne by the subscriber. MeSHTM is a telco independent service.

 

Do I need to pay for data rate if I leave my MeSHTM ON?
No data charges as long as you do not choose to launch the contents in MeSHTM Client in any pages on your mobile phone.

 

Do I need to pay for data rate if I view the contents in MeSHTM?

Yes, you need to pay the prevailing data rate charges of your service provider once you click to view any information or contents that were previously saved in MeSHTM. Data charges are applicable to retrieve contents and invoke services.

 

Will I incur expensive data charges using MeSHTM?

This table shall give you an indication the download size of contents when you use MeSHTM. The data charges are dependent on your telco service providers.

What features are available on MeSHTM?

MeSHTM includes the following:

  1. Mobile eServices – Unqiue to MeSHTM, you will be able to transact with various Government services using your mobile phone.
  2. My Inbox – Your personal MeSHTM inbox to receive mVouchers, alerts and information.
  3. Lifestyle and Promo – View the list of MeSHTM merchants and their offerings. Why not enjoy a discounted cup of coffee or special IT gadget promo in the heart of town?
  4. mVouchers – Receive mobile vouchers from our merchant partners to enjoy discounts and attractive benefits while you are out and about!
  5. Location Based Services (LBS) – Through MeSHTM, you will be able to receive surprise promotions by participating merchants when you are near their various outlets. Simple turn MeSHTM ON when you are on the move!
 

What benefits do I get with MeSHTM?

Unique to MeSHTM, you are able to access and transact with selected Government eServices. In addition, if you agree to be part of the lifestyle programme to receive commercial promotions and material, you will enjoy discounts and other lifestyle benefits offered by our merchants.

An added value service by MeSHTM is the location-based services (LBS) where you receive surprise promotions by participating merchants when you are near their various outlets. Simple turn MeSHTM ON when you are on the move!

Do I have the option not to accept and download commercial promotions and materials in MeSHTM?

Opt-out
During MeSHTM Client registration, you can ‘opt-out’ and choose not to receive lifestyle promotions (which includes LBS contents). You can still enjoy using Government Services on MeSHTM.

Opt-in
Once you choose to ‘opt-in’ to receive lifestyle promotions (which includes LBS contents), you will receive our exclusive promotions when you switch MeSHTM ON when you are out and about.

You will receive an alert with a message in the ‘Inbox’ in MeSHTM.

You have the complete control to choose to open this message to download and view the contents (eg.mVoucher) . Otherwise you can choose to ‘delete’ the message from ‘Inbox’.

Standard data rate charges apply if you accept to download the information.

 

What is Location-based Services (LBS)?

LBS is a added-value service only if your phone can support this technology. During the MeSHTM Registration, you will be prompted if your phone supports LBS.

With this added value service, you will be able to receive surprise promotions by participating merchants when you are nearby their various outlets. Simply turn MeSHTM ON when you are on the move!

 

What is Auto-polling on MeSHTM?

Auto-polling is a feature under ‘Settings’ once you download MeSHTM successfully into your phone. Auto-polling allows the phone to detect LBS and/or non-LBS contents periodically that can be pre-determined by you. You can set the frequency at interval of 10, 20 or 30 minutes to poll. Or you can switch it OFF completely.

 

What happen if I switch OFF the Auto-polling in MeSHTM?

You will not receive the updated contents in your Inbox when you are supposed to receive them at the time of promotion. Instead you will see the new contents only when you access your ‘Inbox’.

Example: There is a special promotion from a merchant at 3pm. You will not receive this new content in the 'Inbox' at 3pm as you have switched OFF Auto-polling. You will only see this promotion at the time when you open the 'Inbox'

 

What is the download speed of the contents when I use MeSHTM?

The download speed of the contents is dependent of your prevailing telecommunications service providers. If you encounter difficulty to download the contents, please contact your service providers for assistance or contact us for assistance.

 

Can I unsubscribe to the Lifestyle programme?

Yes. Simply log on to mesh.portalcity.com.sg, login and edit your profile to unsubscribe.

 

Can I uninstall MeSHTM if I do not wish to have it on my mobile device?

Yes. Follow your phone instructions on uninstalling applications provide by your mobile phone.

 

Can I reinstall MeSHTM if I change my mobile phone?

You can reinstall MeSHTM into the new phone if it is one of the support phone model. Simply login with your registered username and password at mesh.portalcity.com.sg and download to your new mobile phone. Data charges will occur once you download the client.

 

Can I reinstall MeSHTM if I change my mobile number?

You do not need to reinstall the client. Just update your new mobile number in the 'Edit Profile' page.
